Fun In A Flash Flood

We had a small flash flood on June 28th.  This is the corner about 100 ft. from our house. The kids decided that bicycles were the cure.

Hummingbird

I know the video is dim, all I had was my Kodak digital, not the video camera.  If I had move the Hummingbird would have flown away.  You can see it on the right side of the feeder, near the bottom.  Click though to the video on Youtube to get a better view.

Best. Desktop. Background. Switcher. EVER.

I just started using this software I found VIA Lifehacker called John's Background Switcher.  It's INCREDIBLE.  You can choose from different modes starting with making a list of images from your hard drive, to adding a folder with sub-folder searching also.  Now for the fun part.  You can add Flickr, and not only that, but configure it to grab the random top images from EVERYONE, so that you never know what is going to be your background.  You can enter keywords or text descriptions words to filter what you get.  There are other services as well, Phanfare, Smugmug, and Picasa, which I haven't tried as yet since I don't use those services.  If they work like the rest of the program they will be perfect.  Here is another kicker.  You can use Yahoo and specify some search terms to pull images to make your background!  UNLIMITED RANDOMNESS!

There are many display modes, stretch to screen, scale to fit, center, 4 picture mosaic, thumbnail mosaic, and snapshot scrapbook which places photos in random places on your desktop! This mode also includes using an image with special effects as your background image behind the photos.

There is so much here that is configurable it is impossible for my aching hands to type it all.  Quite simply this is one of the best pieces of free software I have ever downloaded!  If you like it, be sure to donate to the author, I did!

Hillary, you are done.  It's over.  Remember the embarrassment when your husband was caught having sex and cheating on you in the White House?  Your refusal to drop out is worse by far.  What's more, it's sad and pathetic.  You have seriously become the butt of almost all political jokes at this time.  You don't look powerful and ready to lead, you look desperate and not worthy of being a President.

We all know Obama has come out on top.  Maybe you could be his Vice President?  That would be historical.  However, due to your refusal to bow out gracefully, no one will want you as a Vice President now, and it will hurt his chances of being a President.  You are an individual in a deep well, scrabbling for purchase, ripping off your fingernails in an attempt to climb to the top.  

Personally, I hate politics.  In these recent elections it comes down to the lesser of evils. To the average citizen, you are all corrupt, hiding secrets, power hungry, corrupt.  You work for us, the people, and we pay your extravagant lifestyles.

It's time to return to what Government was laid out to be, a method of helping this country to be fair and free.

Our Forefathers would be sickened.
