Scientists have Cured Cancer! But....

This is a must read.  Evidently there is a cure for most cancers, but no one will take notice or act on it.

Update:  Thanks to the Cerulean Studios' Forums, a place I frequent constantly, here is an even more credible source.

Company Disrespects American Soldiers

I hate the war.  I disagree with us being there.  We cannot even take care of our own here at home, why the hell are we in Iraq policing that country?    We all know our troops are there under false pretenses, that our soldiers are following orders and doing their job.

With that said, I support our troops over there.  They are doing what they were sent to do, whether or not it is right or wrong for us to be there is irrelevant, our soldiers do not have a choice, they are doing the job assigned to them, the best they can, and I support them whole-heartedly, without supporting this fabricated war.

This company on the other hand has decided to take it upon themselves to explain to our troops that they need to pull out of Iraq.

Emotionally Drained

Children of Men is one of the most powerful movies I have seen in my life. I kept saying to my wife, "This has to end", meaning that it had me "on the edge of my seat".  I repeated "Oh my God" throughout the movie in between laughing and getting tears in my eyes.  It is gritty and realistic, and feels like the proverbial roller coaster. It has meaning and a purpose. It is like a painting, a work of art. It's powerful.  That's all I can say.

Powerful.

Happy Birthday Edgar Allen Poe

Every year, for 58 years a man has left a half full bottle of Cognac and 3 roses at the grave of Edgar Allen Poe, on his birthday.  I love Edgar Allen Poe, and have all of his works here, and read them often. This story is very touching, and the act itself contains a hint of the overall tone of Edgar Allen Poe's works. Click the picture below to read more.

Simulate A Nuclear Blast In Your Town

In light of the recent premier of "24", where a 1KT suitcase nuke was detonated near Los Angeles, you can go here and show the damage radius and effects of a 1KT nuclear device on your home town.  Hurray for fear mongering!  EVERYBODY PANIC!

You will need to know your town's longitude and latitude, or if you are in/near a major city there are some named locations.  Easiest way to get your town's longitude and latitude is to Google Search just that:  Your town's name longitude latitude.  Example:  "Allentown, PA longitude latitude" or "Allentown, PA coordinates".  You can also get them from Google Earth, Terraserver, or many online map sites.

I Know, It's Geeky...

Here is a picture of Earth From 4 billion miles away.

The photo above was taken by Voyager 1 in 1990 as it sailed away from Earth, more than 4 billion miles in the distance. Having completed it primary mission, Voyager at that time was on its way out of the Solar System, on a trajectory of approximately 32 degrees above the plane of the Solar System...Read More

Um, Yeah. Read And Repeat This 5 Times Fast...

From V For Vendetta, one of my favorites, the first dialog of the character known as "V".

VoilĂ ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.  The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.  Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

My Favorite "Bond Girl"

Yeah ok, I am a Bond fan.  I have seen every movie and love them all.  Starz has been playing the 007 in '07 marathon, so I of course had to watch.  I couldn't wait for "For Your Eyes Only" to come on, because of the most beautiful "Bond Girl" ever, Carole Bouquet.  I cannot get enough looking at her face, the shape of her mouth, and those eyes.

Sorry fellow males, when I look at a female the first thing I see is eyes, then mouth, then hair.  A perfect body doesn't do it for me, every woman has something about her that is beautiful.  A woman is to be revered, worshiped, respected, not looked at like a piece of meat or an object, but a work of priceless art, irreplaceable and compelling.  Like it or not, women are far deeper and stronger than we ever will be.
