I was in an accident Oct 3rd at about 3:30pm. We have a newly blacktopped highway (route) and it had just rained enough to mix with the oily surface and make it slick as snot. This was compounded by my right, rear tire blowing at 50mph on a curve. My car slid off the road and down a steep 15ft embankment. I caught air, and a tree stopped me. The impact was fairly hard, knocked me unconscious, tore a muscle in my neck, bruised both my right and left legs, and dislocated my right shoulder. My wife popped it back in for me at the scene, and because I was pumped full of adrenaline, I refused treatment saying I was fine. (blood pressure 154/100, pulse 112)
Believe me, an hour later (waiting for the state police who never showed up), I was starting to feel the pain. Kathy (wife) finally forced me to go to the emergency room. I feel like hammered shit. I am okay though, and the car has a ton of scratches, a dent in the right rear quarter panel where the tree stopped me. I took out 2 6-10 inch saplings.
Silver lining: They were able to pull the car out, and change the tire, runs like a champ with no adverse effects other than body damage.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day in the neighborhood...
