Windows Live Writer Working Again!

Thanks to "Mithrandir (Gandalf)", Windows Live Writer is working again! You can see this thread, or follow the instructions below.

 (Blogger beta only)

1. Delete your blog from your WLW program and re-add it like this:
2. PAGE 1: When adding it, choose "another weblog service"
3. PAGE 2:

  A. Weblog Homepage URL: (make something up.) This is the place where  WLW tries to be overly helpful and try to determine your blog platform for you. You don't want that because WLW isn't getting it right.
  B. Username: yourname@gmail.com
  C. Password: password

4. PAGE 3: (Now it's going to analyze and fail.. that's ok) It will take you to the page where you choose your weblog provider.

1. Choose Blogger (Atom)
2. In the Remote posting field, it's going to automatically enter this: http://www.blogger.com/feeds/<feed-id>/posts/full
3. Where it says "feed-id" you paste your blogger feed id.

  A. You can get this by going to your dashboard, click "new post" on the blog you need the ID for.  now look in your address bar, the ID number is everything after "blogid="

4. Press Next... where it's gonna try to download your template.. which it can't since you're offsite hosting your blog, so don't worry about that part.

5. Switch to this blog now.... make a post!

6. Try and download your web style, it might work.

Again, thanks to Mithrandir (Gandalf)!

WLW is OK, but it adds extra code where I dont want it... and it makes my blog look weird.

Ok. Thanks for the shoutout there man. I've written a more detailed version now that we know it works. You want me to post it here while I still have membership access to the blog?

Drop me a line in email or Yahoo.
